Muscle Relaxers

Just about everyone at some point will experience back pain, so if you’re going through this, you are not alone. Back pain can interrupt daily activities, work schedules and your recreation. There is 50 billion dollars spent by Americans each year on some kind of relief for back pain. This relief can be a prescription for muscle relaxers such as Carisoprodol or non-prescription over the counter ibuprofen.

Back pain is considered a neurological ailment, commonly second to headaches in the US. For those that suffer from back pain, it is fortunate that they will suffer a short term, as back pain usually subsides after a few days.

There are two types of back pain.

Short term back pain or more commonly referred to as acute low back pain will last just a few days. Usually a result of trauma or from arthritis, and is mechanical in nature. You may have caused trauma by:

A sudden jolt to the back
Working around the house (gardening, leave raking)
Sports injury

If you have experienced any of those causes you may feel it by:

Stabbing to shooting pain
Not able to stand up straight
Range of motion or flexibility is impaired

If you choose to ignore acute pain it can develop into a more severe condition.

Pain that lasts more than a few months is usually considered to be chronic. Lower back pain that is considered chronic can be hard in determining the cause.

When suffering acute or chronic back pain, it is best to see your health care provider. They can help to determine the cause and treat it accordingly. Most doctors will prescribe Carisoprodol or Flexeril muscle relaxer to help diminish the pain until the muscle or joint can heal, combining the medication with rest, possible exercise and physical therapy.
